About Me: A Psychology Memoir

A serene landscape featuring mountains, a river, and a clear blue sky.

My Work

I cannot remember a time when I did not write. I was fascinated by language and could spell "encyclopaedia" at five years old. I read voraciously—anything I could get my hands on.

As a child, my stories revolved around animal relationships, often featuring dogs and horses, and they invariably ended tragically. As a teenager, I predictably shifted to angst-ridden, "woe is me" poetry.

After university, I began my career as a psychologist, which pushed my writing into the background, although I still published the occasional story or feature article.

Now that I am retired, there is time for writing again. From the Shadows is my first novel, but I hope to publish more. I have a strong love for short fiction, much of which explores the intricate dynamics of human and animal relationships. My dogs and horses still dominate my life and serve as a rich source of ideas for my writing.

I am currently working on a psychologist memoir that reflects on the dogs in my life, alongside a series of linked short stories centered around the theme of mercy.
