Review of Deborah Robertson’s novel, Careless, published in LiNQ, 2007. 'The Cost of Stress', a commissioned non-fiction piece for Coal Courier, 1995. Created video scripts for Award Media, producing promotional videos for tourism and business clients, 1993/94. Contributed several commissioned articles to the Hamilton Spectator during 1992/93. Developed audio-visual scripts focusing on lifestyle issues for Environment Audio Visuals, which were implemented in the secondary school system, 1985. Authored multiple publications in The Australian Bloodhorse Review centered on thoroughbred horse breeding and racing during 1984/85. 'Biting and Kicking' appeared in Hoofbeats, 1984. Further, 'The Problem Horse' was featured both in Hoofbeats and the RSPCA Journal, 1983. Additionally, I wrote 'A Behavioural Approach to Training Horses', published in Hoofs and Horns, 1980. My body of work showcases a blend of short fiction and non-fiction, contributing to my recognition in various awards throughout my writing career.
Gillian Gregory has been commended for her short fiction piece 'The Old Apple Tree' in the publication Ritardando and Other Musical Adventures, part of the Short Stories Unlimited Anthology, 2024. Her work, From the Shadows, was longlisted in the Page 100 Competition by Louise Walters Books, UK, in 2021. She also received the First Prize for ‘New World’ in the Geelong Writers General Anthology, From the Inside Looking Out, in 2020. Additionally, 'The White Dog' was shortlisted for ABC Regional Productions in 2003, while she earned an honourable mention for ‘Dan and Paddy’ at the Southern Cross Literary Competition that same year. Moreover, Gillian won the Open Short Story award for 'Billy and the Eagle' at the Grenfell Henry Lawson Festival of the Arts in 1994.
